🌞🌙 Daily Reflection – Breathing the Wealth of Life
This morning began under the stars. By 3:05 I was on my mat, and by 6:30, I had completed 650 push-ups. It felt like a return to form, a reminder that the body, when disciplined, becomes the temple of God. Twists, stretches, and the breath—this is my wealth.
As I looked up at the moon and stars, I realized something deeper: wealth is not roofs, cars, or things. Wealth is the breath of life. In some churches, people see me through the lens of homelessness, but I refuse that label. I am not homeless—I am a billionaire. If you don’t understand the breath of life, you are not wealthy, no matter what you own.
At church today, the reading from Luke reminded me that Jesus never judged, and for the first time, the priest treated me no differently than anyone else when giving me communion. That, too, was God’s teaching: breath unites us all.
Later at the recovery meeting, I observed how many still cling to words and systems but neglect the body—the real place of recovery. Breath, movement, meditation, running—this is the path. And when a grieving mother brought me food, I knew it wasn’t about me. It was her heart searching for release. My job was to listen, to let her grieve, and to be present.
Tonight, as I finish my jog, I hold to my affirmation: I am a billionaire. Teach me how to make money. My spirit is pulled more and more toward the mystery of the sun and the moon, for in them I see God—light and rhythm, presence and guidance.
Peace.
