Tuesday reflection

Daily Reflection – The Homeless Billionaire

I woke up this morning at 4:40. By 5:00, I was already on my yoga mat, moving with breath and stillness. The body woke with me—600 push-ups before the sun rose, and then I laced up my shoes and jogged to church.

From church, I kept moving. I jogged on to my meetings. The rhythm of my steps was like a prayer, carrying me forward into the day.

At my first meeting, I spoke my truth. I said what I needed to say and let it out. Some may call it a lecture, but for me, it was release. Afterward, I tried to share more with one of the leaders, but he redirected me elsewhere. That showed me something—I don’t need to force conversations or explanations. I just keep showing up and telling my story. That is enough.

Throughout the day, I noticed how different my path has been. Many people in those rooms are struggling in ways I can see clearly. They claim sobriety, but I can feel the deeper weight of their battles. My journey has been built on something else: on nearly 40,000 miles of running, on more than a decade of overnight yoga, on rising in the early hours when most are asleep. That discipline has shaped me into someone who sees and feels differently.

Tonight, I sat in a young people’s meeting. Some gave advice, telling me what they thought I should do. I stayed silent. Because I understand where they’re coming from, but I also know why this path is happening the way it is. Intuition speaks louder to me than opinion. When you wake in the middle of the night, when you practice yoga in the still hours, when you carry your discipline day after day, your intuition becomes your guide. It changes your mind, your vision, your whole way of living.

That is what keeps me at peace. I don’t argue. I don’t carry anger. Forgiveness comes easily. I walk with gratitude.

After the meeting, someone gave me a ride, but I still chose to walk one more mile. That’s who I am—always moving forward. Even though I rest on a bench, I rest with peace. Even though the cold is coming, I trust that I am guided. Peace doesn’t need to make sense.

From 4:40 this morning until now, this day has been nothing but beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. And I am so, so grateful.

Peace.
