Saturday reflection

I woke before 3 this morning, closer to that 2:22 spirit time. By 2:40 I was on the mat, breathing deeply, moving through my yoga, push-ups, and meditation. My practice is becoming more and more about silence, about slowing down the body and mind, and about listening.

As I breathed, memories surfaced. I once poured years of love, mentorship, and sacrifice into someone I treated like a son. In my heart, I believed we would always share that bond. But when life shifted, when my own struggles came, he reached back to others and not to me. He cut me off, and I had to accept that silence.

For a while I wondered why. But today, instead of anger, I feel understanding. People often step back when they don’t know how to handle your situation. And even though I was hurt, I see it now as part of the lesson: not everyone you give to will stay. But the love you give is never wasted. It builds you, it shapes you, it makes you stronger.

And this morning, life gave me another test. I only had two dollars left, but someone asked me for help. I shared one. Not judging, not questioning what he would do with it — just giving. That moment showed me: it’s not about how much you have, but how much heart you put into what you give.

I am not angry. I am inspired. Inspired to keep mentoring, to keep guiding, to keep opening my heart again and again. Because love and discipline will always return in ways beyond what we can imagine.

Peace.
