July 29, 2014 mindfulness 17-mile meditative run,“We
have negative mental habits that come up over and over again. One of the most
significant negative habits we should be aware of is that of constantly
allowing our mind to run off into the future. Perhaps we got this from our
parents. Carried away by our worries, we are unable to live fully and happily
in the present. Deep down, we believe we cannot really be happy just yet, that
we still have a few more boxes to check before we can really enjoy life. We
speculate, dream, strategize, and plan for these "conditions of
happiness" we want to have in the future; and we continually chase after
that future, even while we sleep. We may have fears about the future because we
don't know how it's going to turn out and these worries and anxieties keep us
from enjoying being here now.”

July 26, 2014 brotherly love 24-mile meditative run,” Love
is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does
not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends.
As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for
knowledge, it will pass away.”

July 25, 2014 wisdom 15-mile meditative run,“The universe
in its profound wisdom always sends us what we need to move us closer to our
truth. Trust in it with all your heart and mind. Trust that even the pain felt
in your heart is to free you from your self-imposed bondage. Be forever
grateful for the moment of clarity and peace. Be patient and compassionate through
moments of difficulty and uncertainty. Wait for the message to come. They
appear each moment, in every turn you take, from every medium, in each verse
you read, in every person you encounter, in the silence of your own heart. Fix
your awareness on the point, your center, that which never turns but is ever present.
Observe, listen and relax into the realm of infinite possibilities and know
that everything is unfolding exactly as it should.”

lotus is the most beautiful flower, whose petals open one by one. However, it
will only grow in the mud. In order to grow and gain wisdom, first you must
have the mud --- the obstacles of life and its suffering. ... The mud speaks of
the common ground that humans share, no matter what our stations in life.
Whether we have it all or we have nothing, we are all faced with the same
obstacles: sadness, loss, illness, dying and death. If we are to strive as
human beings to gain more wisdom, more kindness, and more compassion, we must
have the intention to grow as a lotus and open each petal one by one.”

Just
July 8, 2014 being in the moment 20-mile meditative run,“The
undiscovered is not far away. It is not something to found eventually. It is
contained within what is right in front of us. The essence of reality is being
born right now. It has never existed before. Reality is constant creation and
destruction, and in this constant change is something unborn and undying,
something that cannot be approached through the known or the past. It is not through
striving to become something based on ideals stemming from former experiences.
It comes to that which is being, not striving. In this state of being in the
moment, without the known, neither past nor future, it is a space without time.
Moreover, in this space, the undiscovered and ever-changing moment exists—a
moment containing all possibilities, the totality of existence, absolute
reality. Reality is now, and in the now, we can experience the true nature of
the universe and the universal mind.”
