Ego less meditative Runner

October 23, 2011, easy 7-mile meditative runs with plenty of thoughts. Remember always that we are just a visitor here on earth, a traveler passing through. Our stay is but short and the moment of our departure unknown.
None can live without toil and a craft that provides our needs, it is a blessing indeed. However, if we toil without rest, fatigue and weariness will overtake us, and we will deny the joy that comes from labor’s end.
Let us speak quietly and kindly and be not forward with either opinions or advice. If we talk much, this will make us deaf to what others are saying. Let us be near to help others, but far when praise are offered.
Take small account of might, wealth and fame, for they soon pass and they are forgotten. Instead, let us nurture love within you and strive to be a friend to all. Truly, compassion is a balm for many wounds.
Let us treasure silence when we find it, and while being mindful of our duties, let us set time aside, to be alone with ourselves. Cast off pretense and self-deception and see ourselves as we really are,
despite all appearances, no one is evil, but led astray by ignorance. Pondering with this truth always, will offer more light within, than blaming others.  Our essential Mind is pure. Therefore, when defilements cause us to stumble and fall, let us be of good cheer and with this understanding, then summon strength and walk on.
Faith is like a lamp and wisdom makes the flame burn bright. Let us carry this lamp always and in good time the darkness will yield and will all abide in the Light.
