28, 2014 learning patient 18 mile meditative run,”Silence is like a river of
grace inviting us to leap unafraid into its beckoning depths. It is dark and
mysterious in the waters of grace. Yet in the silent darkness, new eyes are
given. In the heart of the divine, we can see more clearly, who we are. We are
renewed and cleansed in this river of silence. There are those among you who
fear the Great Silence. It is a foreign land to you. Sometimes it is good to
leap into the unknown. Practice leaping.”

not to be learned by flight from the world, or by running away from things, or
by turning solitary and going apart from the world. Rather, we must learn an

penetrate things and find Inner self there.”

hide who you are. The only shame is to have shame. Always stand up for what you
believe in. Always question what other people tell you. Never regret the
past…It is a waste of time. There is a lesson in it all, every mistake, every
moment of weakness, every terrible thing that has happened to you. Grow from it;
above all be honest with yourself."

16-mile meditative run,“During my meditative run, thought
come to mind, but the most important part of the run is being in the moment, not how fast or how far I could run. The joy
was in the act of running and in the journey, not in the destination. We have a
better chance of seeing where we are when we stop trying to get somewhere else.
We can enjoy every moment of movement, as long as where we are is as good as,
where we would like to be. That is not to say that you need to be satisfied
forever with where you are today. But you need to honor what you've
accomplished, rather than thinking of what's left to be done.”

February 21, 2014 mindfulness 20 mile meditative run,”Mindfulness
is being aware of yourself, others, and your surroundings in the moment. When
consciously and kindly focusing awareness on life as it unfolds minute by
precious minute, you are better able to savor each experience. In addition,
being closely attentive gives you the opportunity to change unwise or painful
feelings and responses quickly. Practicing mindfulness is an excellent stress
reducer and can be seen as consciousness conditioning, a strengthening workout
for body, mind, heart, and personality.”

smell, taste, sight, and hearing. Not to ignore are the senses of our souls:

senses while a few people rely on them just as they rely on their physical
senses, and in fact probably even more.”

February
11, 2014 gratitude 18 mile meditative run,”Gratitude... goes beyond the "mine"
and "thine" and claims the truth that all of life is a pure gift. In
the past, I always thought of gratitude as a spontaneous response to the
awareness of gifts received, but now I realize that gratitude can also be lived
as a discipline. The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to
acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to
be celebrated with joy.”

February
9, 2014 gratitude 15-mile meditative run,“Through
meditation and prayer it is possible to be sane. You can get rid of all this
insanity created by the past in you. Just by being a simple witness of your
thought processes. It is simply sitting silently, witnessing the thoughts,
passing before you. Just witnessing, not interfering, and not judging which
requires hard work. It takes a little time to create a gap between the
witness and the mind. Once the gap is there, you are in for a great surprise,
that you are not the mind, that you are the witness, a watcher. In
addition, this process of watching is the very alchemy of real religion.
Because as you become more and more deeply rooted in witnessing, thoughts start
disappearing. You are, but the mind is utterly empty. That is the moment of
enlightenment. That is the moment that you become for the first time an
unconditioned, sane, really free human being.”
